CAMDEN – April Elizabeth Lyons of Camden and David Wallace Dixon of Cassatt were married June 9, 2007 at First Baptist Church in Camden, The Rev. Bruce Hancock performed the 7 p.m. ceremony. A reception followed at Camden Shrine Club.
The bride, daughter of Ms. Betty Taylor Lyons of Camden, is the granddaughter of Mrs. Ruth W. Taylor of Camden and the late Mr. Daniel M. Taylor. She earned a B. A. in early childhood education from USC update and is a third grade teacher at Blaney Elementary School in Elgin.
The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Barney W. Dixon, Jr. of Cassatt, is the grandson of Mrs. Josephine M. Hilton of Camden, and the late David Earl Hilton and the late Mr. and Mrs. Barney W. Dixon Sr. He earned a B. S. in political science is employed at Rioux Vision in Pontiac.
Matron of honor was kathy L. Ray, sister of the bride, Maid of honor was Brook McLeod. Attendants were Rebekah Moore, Rebecca Spann, Elizabeth Taylor and Jennifer Thomas, Junior bridesmaid was Samantha Watkins, niece of the groom. Flower girl was Adalea Gillis, niece of the groom.
Best man was Wallace Dixon, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Kevin Baker, Michael Boone, Daniel Fallon, Neal Owen and Adam Triplett, Junior groomsman was Nicholas Ray, nephew of the bride. Ring bearer was Zachary Ray, nephew of the bride.
The couple plans a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico.
