The scope of work is Renovations to Blaney Elementary School, located on the property of the Owner at 1621 Smyrna Road, Elgin, South Carolina. The project consist of Renovations to Blaney ELementary School located at 1621 Smyrna Road, Elgin, SC 29045. The project will include all work necessary to complete the renovations (approx. 70,000 sq ft.) to the existing building in 5 phases. Work on the project includes but is not limited to the demolition of existing systems, new roof systems, all finishes, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and all other systems and components necessary to complete the project.

Plans and Specifications will be available for inspection by interested Bidders at the office of the architect, McMillan Smith & Partners Architects, 127 Dunbar Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306, the plan room of Associated General Contractors and F W Dodge Qualified General Contractors licensed to do business in South Carolina may obtain a copy of the Drawings and Specifications from the Architect upon the deposit of the sum of Three Hundred and No/100 Dollars ($300.00) of which Two Hundred and No/100 ($200.00) will be refunded upon submission of a Bona Fide Bid and return of Documents in good condition with in ten (10) days after the opening of Bids Additional Drawings and Specifications for General Contractors and Subcontractors may be obtained upon the deposit of the sum of Three Hundred and No/100 Dollars ($300.00) of which Two Hundred and No/100 ($200.00) will be refunded upon the condition that the Documents are returned within ten (10) days after the Opening of Bids.

The Owner/Architect requires that each general contractor submit a resume of his building experience with regard to this type of construction. This written resume should include a list of similar type projects with the amount of his respective contract for review by the Owner/Architect. The resume should be submitted by the General Contractor when the plan deposit is submitted to the Architect’s office.

The Architect’s plans and specifications must be returned to the street address, 127 Dunbar Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306, not to our Post Office Box. If plans and specification, are returned to our Post Office Box, a $10.00 handling fee will be deducted from the plan deposit.

Bids will be dinding for a period of sixty (60) calendar days following the date on which Bids are opened.

All bids are to be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check of not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid Bid securities of the three lowest bidders will be retained until Contract award and execution.

The successful bidder will be required to furnish Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Amount.

Bids are to be submitted on the form of proposal provided, enclosed in a sealed opaque envelope bearing the name and address of the bidder, contractor’s license number, the name of project. All bids must comply with the laws of the State of South Carolina.

A PRE-BID CONFERENCE WILL BE HELD IN THE CAFETERIA OF BLANEY ELEMENTRAY SCHOOL ON WEDNESDAY, JUNE 13TH AT 10L00 AM.

THE OWNER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT ANY AND ALL BIDS, WAIVE INFORMALITIES AND AWARD THE CONTRACT IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE OWNER.
