Alfred James Branham was born on 18 Aug 1941 in Elgin, Kershaw, South Carolina, USA as the first child of Ausman Emanuel Branham and Georgia Jackson

Alfred J. Branham, 65, of Elgin, passed away Friday, October 20, 2008.  He was a former employee of Daniels Construction and a truck driver.

Surviving were his two daughters, Sharen Whitfield and her husband, Jeff, Debbie Springfield and her husband, Tim, all of Elgin; three granddaughters, Tiffany McNeill and her husband, Joey, of Camden, Jaimie Whitfield and Presley Springfield of Elgin; two great-granddaughters, Ashland Jade McNeill and Emily Grace McNeill of Camden; a brother, Johnny Branham of Swansea; twin sister, Alfreda Lloyd of Swansea; sister, Jeanette Grigsby of Elgin.

A brother, Talmadge Branham, predeceased him.

Graveside service for Alfred J. Branham were held 3 o’clock Monday, October 23, 2006, in Hillcrest Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends after the service in the Fellowship Hall of the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church, P.O. Box 85, Elgin, SC 29045. Shives Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
