Pearl Goff Nettles, 76, died Sunday, May 21, 2006. Mrs. Nettles was a member of Blaney Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nettles were held Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at Blaney Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. William Mattox will officiate. The family received friends Tuesday, May 23, 2006 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Kornegay Funeral Home Lugoff – Elgin Chapel. Memorials may be made to Blaney Baptist Church, 1400 Blaney Road, Elgin, SC 29045.

Surviving were her husband, George Vernon “Sarge” Nettles; daughter, Phyllis N. Mitchell of Elgin; sons, Joel Nettles and his wife, Elizabeth Nettles, of Elgin, and Gregory Nettles and his wife, Angela Nettles, of Camden; sisters, Betty G. Meetze of W. Columbia, and Lillie Hilgenberg of Bolingbrook, Ill.; brother, Tamadge Goff of Elgin, eight grandchildren.

She was predeceased by five brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Nettles’s grandsons, Scott Mitchell, Brian Nettles, Aaron Nettles, Matthew Nettles, Phillip Nettles and Dustin Nettles will serve as active pallbearers. Mrs. Nettles’ granddaughters, Amanda Mitchell and Emily Nettles will serve as honorary pallbearers.
