Ella Branham Coker was born October 14, 1912, in Blaney, S.C., the daughter Tom English Branham and Rebecca Jane Branham Branham.

1964

On August 18, 1964, Mrs. John Coker was listed as the living daughter in the obituary of Rebecca Jane Branham Branham.

On April 17, 1980, Mrs. Ella Coker was listed as the living sister in the obituary of Sallie “Aunt Sallie” Branham Watts.

ELGIN – Funeral services for Ella Branham Coker, 92, of Elgin, will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. George Cashwell, Rev. Jim Rodgers and Rev. Paul Miles will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 9, 2005, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel. Memorials may be made to Regency Hospice, 1611 Hampton St., Columbia, SC 29201.

Mrs. Coker, first married to the late Elba Dillard and second to the late John Coker, died Sunday, August 7, 2005. Born in Blaney, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Tom Branham and Rebecca Branham. She had retired from Civil Services at Fort Jackson. Mrs. Coker was a member of Union Baptist Church and she supported many local charities.

Surviving are daughters, Bette J. Dillard and Jimmie Rose and her husband, Arlin Rose, of Elgin; grandchildren, Donna Hunt Kistler and her husband, Frank Kistler, Phillip Brown, Sherry B. Brockington and her husband, Joe Brockington, Christine B. Kelley and her husband, Michael Kelley; two great- grandchildren, Jonathan B. Hunt and his wife, Lauren Hunt, and Gordon Brockington; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by an infant son and sisters, Emily Rose, Sallie Watts, Eliza Hornsby and Kate Moak.
