ELGIN – Funeral service for Bobby Richard Goff, 69, will be held 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon, June 12, 2005, in Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church with The Reverend George C. Cashwell officiating and assisted by The Reverend Paul Miles, and The Reverend Tony Powell. Serving as pallbearers will be Chip Corey, Mike Jetters, Buck Ellison, Andrew Smith, Gregory Goff, Mark Sury, Mark Brown, Bill Motley, Nate Rollins and Johnny Potter. Honorary pallbearers will be the Highway Pentecostal Holiness Keenagers and Sunday School Class #13. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 o’clock Saturday afternoon at Shives Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church, American Cancer Society, S.C. Division, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.
Mr. Goff died Thursday, June 9, 2005. Born May 11, 1936 in Blaney, SC, he was the son of the late Ira O. Goff and Liddy P. Goff. He attended Blaney schools, worked many years for Jacqlyn Hosiery Mills and BF Goodrich. Mr. Goff retired from FN Manufacturing and most recently was employed with U.S. Repeating Arms, Winchester Plant. He was a member of Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mr. Goff was an avid Clemson fan.
Survivors include his daughter, Tami Chahine and her husband Dhia; brothers, Larry Goff and his wife, Joyce, and Preston Goff and his wife, Laura; sisters, Patricia Motley and her husband, Bud, Derice Dehon and husband, Russell, Gladys Potter, Mary Pate and her husband, David. Also many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
Mr. Goff was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Goff, and sister, Betty Brazell.
