Mary Diane Dorroh Moak was born on November 1, 1942 in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late John H. Dorroh and Rita Moore Dorroh.

2004

Mary Diane Dorroh Moak, 62, of Elgin, wife of A.T. “Hammy” Moak, died Friday, December 10, 2004. Mrs. Moak was co-owner of Hammy’s Barbeque. Prior to opening Hammy’s, she was a registered nurse at Providence Hospital. Mrs. Moak was a member of Blaney Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband, were a daughter, Mandy Julian and her husband, Danny, of Willow Spring, NC; son, Drew Moak of Columbia; sister,Rita Dorroh of Columbia; 2 grandchildren, Rebekah Diane Julian and Emily Gayle Julian; 8 foster children.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Daniel Moak and a brother, David Dorroh.

Funeral services for Mrs. Moak, were held at 11:00 AM Monday, December 13, 2004 at Blaney Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Rev. Lawrence Dennis officiated. The family received friends from 3-5 PM, Sunday, December 12, 2004 at Blaney Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Palmetto Health Hospice, PO Box 7275, Columbia, SC 29202 or Kershaw County Foster Parents Association, c/0 Bill Salter, 50 Nature Lane, Elgin, SC 29045. Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden, is in charge of arrangements.
