According to United States Census reported on May 13, 1940, Robert C Watts (33) owned a home in Wateree Township, Kershaw, South Carolina, with his wife, Martha Mae Watts (27), and their children; Robert L Watts (7), James Watts (5), Hughey Watts (4), Edward Watts (3), Carolyn Watts (1) and Earle Watts (2 months). All family members reported having been born in South Carolina and lived in the same house on April 1, 1935. Robert C Watts was a laborer in road construction.

Earl Finland Watts, 63, of Lugoff, died Saturday, August 9, 2003.
He had retired from DuPont and was a member of Lodge #411 and Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Surviving were wife, Phyllis Branham Watts; daughter, Vickie Watts Covino of Lugoff; son, Randy “Bubba” Watts of Camden; grandsons, Rodger Earl Covino and Robert Blake Watts; sisters, Wilma Watts and Shirley Bench of Elgin and Brenda Nash of Alabama; brothers, Robert Watts of Chesterfield, James Watts and Brunson Laverne Watts of Elgin.
He was predeceased by a sister, Carolyn Truesdell and brothers, Huey Watts, Buck Watts, Edward Watts and William Lee Watts.
Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel, was in charge.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2003, at Hillcrest Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Reverend Bill Drees, Reverend Doug Mize, Reverend Ken Jackson and Joe Covino, son-in-law, officiated. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 11, 2003, at Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel. Memorials may be made to Oak Hill Community Church.
