Clara Motley Goodwin was born April 22, 1909, in Pontiac, she was a daughter of the late John Glenn Motley and Fannie Thornton Motley.

ELGIN – Services for Clara Motley Goodwin, 93, will be held at 8 p.m. today, August 8, 2002 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel. The Rev. Lawrence Dennis will officiate. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2002 in Blaney Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dean Clyde officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-8 this evening at the funeral home prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Blaney Baptist Church, 1400 Blaney Road, Elgin, SC 29045.

Mrs. Goodwin died Tuesday, August 6, 2002. Born in Pontiac, she was a daughter of the late John Glenn Motley and Fannie Thornton Motley. She was a member of Blaney Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, George Duffie Goodwin; daughter, Gayle G. Ross and her husband, Roger, of Elgin; son, George Mackey Goodwin and his wife, Marlene, of Columbia; grandchildren, Kim Spigener and Mitch Goodwin, both of Columbia; great-grandchildren, Asher Spigener and Brice Spigener; loving caregivers, Virginia Addison, Mitzi Beam, Gayle Branham, Betty Martin and Grace Ross; niece, Maria Holm.

She was predeceased by five brothers and three sisters.
