Robert Vernon Hellams Jr., was born April 7, 1919 in Shelby, NC, he was the son of the late Nellie Whitten and Robert V. Hellams, Sr.

Robert Vernon Hellams Jr., 81, of Camden, died Thursday, December 14, 2000.

Graveside services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, December 17, 2000, in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Reverend Paul Becker will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 this evening, December 16, 2000 in the Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made to Home Health of the Kershaw County Medical Center, 2001 West DeKalb Street, Camden, SC 29020. Kornegay Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

He was a U. S. Army World War II veteran having served during the European Theatre.

Surviving were his wife, Edith Earle Hellams; son, Robert Earle Hellams of Camden; grandchildren, Karen Lane of Camden, Stephen Hellams of Richmond, Va.; five great-grandchildren.
