Christina Lea Beaty of Columbia and James Kevin Craig of West Columbia were married June 12, 1999, at Spring Valley Presbyterian Church. The 6 p.m. ceremony was performed by the Rev. Dr. Albert Lamar Potts and the Rev. Dr. Boyd McIver Alexander Jr. and was followed by a reception at the Columbia Museum of Art.
The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Franklin Beaty of Columbia, is the granddaughter of Mrs. Ann Pitts Martin of Clinton and Mrs. Charlotte E. Sottile of Columbia. She earned a B. S. from the College of Charleston nand is employed as a teacher at Blaney Elementary in Elgin.
The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Perry Craig of West Columbia, is the grandson of Mrs. Columbia, is the grandson of Mrs. Kathleen D. Craig of Rock HIll. He earned a B. S. from the College of Charleston and attends the University of South Carolina School of Law. He is employed by James P. Craig, Attorney at Law, of Columbia.
Attendants were Chan Gray, sister of the bride, matron of honor: Leigh Shuping; Ashley Pender; Amy Anderson; Danielle Edenfield; Jenny Shumate; Amy Sunshine; and Katie White.
Best man was Jim Craig, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Daivd Gray, Bru Pender, Jonathan Barth, Michael Hook, Kirk Lassiter, Cliff McKittrick, and Andy Moller.
A honeymoon to Dunn’s River, Jamaica, is planned.
