Leroy Bradford Brown was born February 2, 1929 in Kershaw County, South Carolina to Glenn Elmore Brown and Lura Heath Brown. He was a stepson of Corrie Heath Brown.

1998
Leroy Bradford Brown, 69, of Columbia, died on September 6, 1998. After 38 years of Service, he retired as a superintendent from CSX Railroad, and in retirement was a farmer and Cattleman. He was a former deacon and taught Sunday School for 44 years at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church. He served on the board of director for Farm Bureau, and was a member of Beef-master Breeders Universal and Richland County Cattlemen’s Association. He was a charter member of the West Wateree Community Involvement Association.
Survivors were his wife, Ruth Moak Brown of Elgin; children and their spouses, Dr. Leann Brown of Gainesville, Fla., Carroll and Cherrie Brown, Tommy and Glenna Brown, and Tim and Susanne Brown of Elgin, Mark and Tamara Brown of Kershaw; sisters, Juanita Jordan, Clemmie Moak, and Opal Moore; grandchildren, Joshua and Marianne Brown, Katheryn, Tom, and Caroline Kaiser, Paul and Jason Perry, and Timothy and Lauren Brown.
Services for Leroy Bradford Brown were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday September 8, 1998, at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church, Elgin, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. George Cashwell, and Rev. Wylie Evans officiated. Honorary Pallbearers were members of Mr. Brown’s Sunday School class. The family received friends 6-8, on September 7, 1998 at Talbert-Shives Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia 29210 or Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church, 2290 Heath Pond Road, Elgin, 29045.
