SUMTER – Services for Boykin Lewis “Sonny” Hornsby Sr., 52 will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home, with burial in Sumter Cemetery. Memorial may be made to the American Heart Association.

Mr. Hornsby died Wednesday, September 28, 1994. Born in Columbia, he was a son of Ruby Hornsby Brown and the late Boykin Lewis Hornsby Sr. He retired from Seaboard Coastline Railroad and was an employee of the Clarendon County Correctional Center. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and Earlewood Baptist Church of Columbia.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy H Hornsby, daughters, Betsy Smith of Newton, N.C., and Rhonda Molina of Sumter, a son, Boykin Hornsby III of Hickory, N. C.; his mother and stepfather Leon Brown of Sumter; and one grandchild.
