Services for Charles P “Sonny” Bowen, 51, of 153 Chaunticleer Drive will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Christian Outreach Center of West Columbia, with burial in Woodridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at Talbert-Shives Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Christian Outreach Center.

Mr. Bowen died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 1994. Born in Elgin, he was a son of Roxie Branham Bowen Heath and the late Charlie P Bowen. He was a structural Steel Erector and a former employee of Horizon Steel Erectors. He was a member of Christian Outreach Center and a former member of the South Carolina Army Reserve National Guard.

Surviving are his wife, Carol Lawhon Bowen; a son, C. Eric Bowen of West Columbia; daughters, Tiffany Bowen of Columbia, Tammy Hicks of West Columbia and Jamie Bowen of Hopkins; a step-son, Mark Leitzsey of Columbia; a step-daughter, Terri McDonald of Pavillion, N.Y.; his mother and stepfather, Ollie Heath of West Columbia, Sisters, Dorothy Zenori of Lexington, Brenda Hennessee of Columbia, Gwen Tidwell of West Columbia and Lillian Wilson and Betty Massey, both of Winnsboro; and seven grandchildren.
