James Corbett Branham, 72, of 2232 U. S. 1 South, Elgin, died Tuesday, December 27, 1988.
He was a building contractor and a retired builder with Constan Inc. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the Lugoff Masonic Lodge, Hillcrest Bible Church of Elgin, and the men’s Sunday school class.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mattie Lucille Rabon Branham; sons, James C. Branham Jr. of virginia Beach, Va., John Branham of Elgin and Don Branham of Columbia; daughters. Mrs. Frank (Blanche) Cribbs of Brimingham, Ala., Mrs. Wendell (Irma) Sweat of West Columbia, Mrs. C. D. (Donna) Rigsby of Elgin and Mrs. David (Debra) Spence of Columbia; brothers, Thomas Branham of Lutz, Fla., Ernest Branham of Columbia and Curtis Branham of Blythewood; sisters, Mrs. Lucille Sanders, Mrs. Thelma Meadows and Mrs. Frances coker, all of Elgin; and his stepmother. Mrs. Dora Branham of Blythewood.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 1988 at Hillcrest Baptist Church.
The family received friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., December 28, 1988 at Talbert-Shives Funeral Home, and a viewing will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 1988 at the church.
