Steadman – Cochran

Salem United Methodist Church of Elgin was the scene of the 4 p.m. wedding Sunday of Miss Molly Ann Cochran of Spartanburg and Dr. Mark Stephen Steadman of Roanoke, Va. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Jerry L. Temple, and a reception was held at Blaney Family Life Center in Elgin.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Anderson Cochran of Elgin. She was graduated from Lugoff-Elgin High school and earned a B. A. degree in comprehensive special education from Converse College in Spartanburg. She also received her master’s degree in elementary education from Converse. Prior to her marriage, she was employed by Spartanburg County School District Seven as a special education teacher at Park Hills Elementary School.

The bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Richard Anderson Steadman of Johnston. He was graduated from Francis-Wardlaw Academy and is a magna cum laude graduate of Wofford College with a B. S. degree in biology. He received his M. D. degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and is in the family practice residency program at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

After a wedding trip to the Isle of Palms, the couple will reside in Roanoke.
