John Coker


John Coker was born September 29, 1916 in Blaney, South Carolina, son of Robert Marion Coker and Lucille Morgan Coker.


On April 14, 1938, John Coker was listed as a pallbearer in the obituary of Bryant Morgan.


On August 29, 1955, John Coker was listed as a pallbearer in the obituary of Lillie Morgan Miles.


On August 9, 1960, John Coker was listed as a living son in the obituary of R. M. Coker.


On August 18, 1962, John Coker was listed as an active pallbearers in the obituary of Alvin L. “Jack” Morgan.


John Coker, 64, died Thursday at Baptist Medical Center in Columbia.

Born in Blaney, he was a son of the late Robert Marion Cokerr and Lucille Morgan Coker. He was a retired civil service employee with the Veterans Administration in Columbia and an Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ella Dillard Coker of Elgin; two daughters, Mrs. Arlin Rose and Mrs. Andrea Brown of Elgin; a sister, Mrs. Flem Ross of Elgin; four brothers, Ernest Coker of Lugoff, Edward Coker of Charleston and Willard Coker and Lindsay Coker of Elgin; four grandchildren; and a great grandchild.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. today at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Kornegay Funeral Home is in charge.
