Ernest P Dowey Sr.,79, of Lugoff, died Thursday, January 10, 1980 at Kershaw County Memorial Hospital. He was a retired farmer and carpenter.

Surviving were his widow, Mrs. Beulah Peake Dowey; seven daughters, Mrs. Glenn L. Brown, Mrs. Willie Campbell, Mrs. Jasper E Moak, Sr., Mrs. Sara Ray, Mrs. Sidney Catoe Jr., and Mrs. Claude Ray Jr. of Lugoff and Mrs. William Rhodus of Camden; four sons, Raymond Dowey, Ronald Dowey, Lester Dowey and Ernest Dowey Jr.  of Lugoff; three brothers, Arthur Dowey, Milton Dowey,  and Alex Dowey of Lugoff; three sisters, Mrs Corrie Rabon, Mrs. Etta Jackson and Mrs. Lola Kronman of Lugoff; 28 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 1980 at Pine Grove Baptist Church.
