Born in Mississippi, he was a son of the late Mack and Allie Thompson Kimble.

Joe Kimble, 77, of 1003 Bellview St., died Tuesday (December 23, 1978). Services were held 3 p.m. Friday (December 29, 1978) in Thompson Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. W. A. Jackson, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Thompson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Billy Lovett, Connie Hutto, Jack Ebney, Parris Lyles, Rodney Hornsby and Randolph Dinkins.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Violey Lovett of Columbia: five sons, Phillip, Aaron, Roy and Tyron Kimble of Columbia, and Alvin Kimble of West Columbia; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Despian and Edna Vinning of Columbia; a stepson, Joe Isehoward of Columbia; and 15 grandchildren.
