ELGIN – Some 600 gallons of catfish stew will be simmering for the 3rd annual Elgin Catfish Stomp on Saturday, Dec. 2 in this Kershaw County town.
An 11 a.m. Christmas parade will begin day-long activities that includes the first Catfish Stomp Run along with arts and crafts and band competition.
The 6.2 mile, 10,000 meter run begins at 12:15 p.m. in front of Blaney Elementary School. Nov. 25 is advance registration deadline and a $4 entry fee will also get runners a tee shirt to denote the event.
Advance fee checks for the run may be made payable to the sponsoring Elgin Lions Club and mailed to Dr. Larry Owen, P. O. Box 486, Elgin, S.C. 29045.
