Laura Shirley Cook Heath was born October 11, 1898 in Blaney, a daughter of Thomas Decatur Cook and Sally Long Cook.

1968

On August 30, 1968, Mrs. Laura Cook Heath was listed as the living wife in the obituary of John Gary Heath.

1977

Mrs. Laura Shirley Cook Heath, 78, widow of John Gray Heath, of 6841 Satchel Ford Road died Thursday, September 29, 1977, in Richland Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Blaney, a daughter of the late Thomas Decatur Cook and Sally Long Cook. She was a member of Bayview Baptist Church.

Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Marie Cameron of Lugoff. Mrs. Nell Strickland of West Columbia and Mrs. Mable Higgins, Mrs. Inez Brown, Mrs. Allene Dabbs and Mrs. Irene Anderson of Columbia; 23 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 1977 at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church, Elgin.

Talbert-Shives Funeral Home is in charge.
