ELGIN – Don Powell and Warren Burnett Captured the top fuel division of the National Hot Rod Association drag races Saturday night at Blaney Drag Strip as Bob Strauss finished in the runner up spot.

Bob Barry bested Murph McKinney in the funny car Category and Don Nicolson edged Bob Ingles in the pro stock class. Jeff Richardson closed in front of Chase Knight to capture the pro comp race.

In the comp eliminator division, David Majors won over Chip Houston and David Sulls captured the modified gas title over Ricky McJarity. Ronnie Traffanstedt beat Doug Sossamon in the super stock race.

Mike Harrison, Willie Carter and Ronnie Pound took the three heats in the elapsed time races.
