Annie Mae Jeffords Branham

1902

Annie Mae Jeffords was born on 01 Apr 1902 in Lee, South Carolina, USA a child of Alfred Jeffords and Emmie Lee Thigpen. 

Annie’s mother, Emma Thigpen Jeffords died young, leaving Annie and her brother Daniel to be raised by their aunt, Josephine Logan who lived near Timmonsville. 

Lizzies husband, Walter Disher was killed in army. She move to Cola to work in the cotton mill, where she met and married Leslie Branham. Annie and Daniel stayed with them and Annie would marry Leslie’s brother.

Annie Jefferies was counted in the census on 19 Apr 1910 in Lynchburg, Lee, South Carolina, USA as a female, 7, single, white, daughter. Also in the home was her father, Alfred Jefferies; her mother, Emma Jefferies; and her siblings, Lizzie Jefferies, Daniel Jefferies, Mary Jefferies and Martha Jefferies.

1927

On January 20, 1927, Mrs. A. B Branham was listed as the mother in the obituary of Emma Branham.

1930

Annie Brennen was counted in the census on 05 Apr 1930 in Olympia, Richland, South Carolina, USA as a female, 20, married, white, wife. Also in the home was her husband, Alfred Brennen; and their children, Mary Brennen and Alfred Brennen Jr.

1931

On October 29, 1931, Annie Jeffers was listed as the mother on the death certificate for Alfred Branham Jr.

1940

Annie Branham was counted in the census on 15 Apr 1940 in West Columbia, Lexington, South Carolina, USA as a female, 34, married, white, wife. Also in the home was her husband, Alfred Branham and their daughter, Mary Branham.

1976

ELGIN – Mrs. Alfred Branham, 73, of Elgin, died yesterday in the Kershaw County Hospital

Funeral Services will be held at 4 p.m. tomorrow in the Union Baptist Church at Elgin, conducted by the Rev. Ronald Bennett and the Rev. Alfred Berardi. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The casket will be place in the church an hour prior to services.

Pallbearers will be Marshall Dawkins, Charlies Branham, Frank Branham, Talmadge Jeffords, and Elbert Coleman.

Mrs. Branham, the former Annie Jeffords, was born in Lee County, a daughter of the late Alfred Jeffords and Emmie Lee Thigpen Jeffords. She was a member of the Union Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband; five daughters, Mrs. Mary Smith, Mrs. Janie Reynolds, Mrs. Robert M Branham and Mrs. Pat Pryor all of Elgin and Mrs. Gray of Columbia; a sister, Mrs. Lizzie Branham of Elgin; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the residence and Thompson Funeral Home tonight from 7:30 to 9:30.

Mrs. Alfred Branham

ELGIN – Mrs. Alfred Jeffords Branham, 73, wife of Alfred Branham, died Monday in the Kershaw County Hospital after short illness.

Born in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Alfred Jeffords and Emmie Lee Thigpen Jeffords.

Surviving are her husband; five daughters, Mrs. Mae Gray of Columbia, Mrs. Mary Smith, Mrs. Janie Reynolds, Mrs. Robert M Branham and Mrs. Pat Pryor all of Elgin; a sister, Mrs. Lizzie Branham of Elgin; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 4 p.m. today in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

Thompson Funeral Home in West Columbia is in charge.
