Norris McKenzie


Norris McKenzie was born August 17, 1917 in Hampton County, a son of Henry McKenzie and Julia Bell Priester McKenzie.


On August 10, 1960, Norris McKenzie was listed in the newspaper article “Blaney School Will Open August 31.”


Norris McKenzie, 57, of Elgin, a retired custodian of Blaney schools, died Friday, August 1, 1975 in Kershaw County Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

He was born in Hampton County, a son of the late Henry McKenzie and Julia Bell Priester McKenzie.

Surviving are two sisters, Miss Dolly McKenzie of Elgin and Mrs. John (Bessie) Hornsby of Elgin; five brothers, Coy McKenzie, and Harry McKenzie of Great Falls, Eddie McKenzie of Camden and Lonnie McKenzie of Brunson, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 5 p.m. today, August 3, at Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Kornegay Funeral Home is in charge.
