FLORENCE – English D. Dawkins, 72, died Thursday in a Florence hospital after a long illness.

He was born in Blaney, a son of the late Flemming Dawkins and Maggie Avin Dawkins. Mr. Dawkins was an employe of the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad for 36 years.

Services will be 3 p.m. today at Grace Baptist Church with burial in Florence Memorial Gardens.

Stoudenmire Funeral Home is in charge.
