Carrie Jane “Katie” Sharpe Boone was born on May 15, 1892 in Fairfield County, a daughter of the late William Augustus Sharpe and Mary Elizabeth Miles Sharpe.

1920 Census Information:

According to the United States Census reported on January 14, 1920, Henry Boone (23) rented a home in Buffalo, Kershaw County, South Carolina with his wife Kate Boone (25) and children; Annie Mae Boone (7) and Gussie Boone (5). All family members were reported to have been born in South Carolina. Henry Boone was a farmer on a general farm.

1930 Census Information:

According to the United States Census reported on April 2, 1930, Henry C Boone (36) rented a home in Flat Rock, Kershaw County, South Carolina with his wife, Katie Boone (37) and children; Annie M Boone (17) and Gussie Boone (15). All family members were reported to have been born in South Carolina. Henry C Boone was a farmer on a general farm, Katie Boone and Gussie were farm laborers on a general farm.

1949

On January 31, 1949, Mrs. Henry Boone was listed as the living sister in the obituary of Walter Sharp.

1973

Mrs. Katie S. Boone, 81, of 7274 Nancy St. died in Richland Memorial Hospital Friday, June 29, 1973 after a long illness. She had made her home in Columbia for the past 20 years and was formerly of Westville. Mrs. Boone was a member of the Refuge Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Annie Mae Lovett of Columbia; a son, Gus Boone of Camden; and a brother, Jim Sharpe of Columbia.

She was preceded in death by her husband;Charles Henry Boone and her siblings; Annie Sharpe Branham, John Augustus Sharpe, Charnel David Sharpe, Arthur Clifton Sharpe, Edward Christian Sharpe, Feaster L Sharpe and Tearrent Sharpe.

Services were held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 1973 in Hillcrest Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Furman Harvey.

Thompson Funeral Home is in charge.
