According to the United States Census recorded on April 5, 1930, John Branham, 38, was the head of household at a rented farm in Wateree Township, in Kershaw County. John was a farmer on a general farm. Also in the home was his wife, Daisy Branham, 32. It was reported that they were married when John was 22 and Daisy was 16, placing their marriage about 1914. Also residing in the home was John and Daisy’s children; Ruth Branham, 12, Leonard Branham, 10, John W. Branham, 8, Ruby L. Branham, 5, and Maude Branham, 1; and John’s aunt, Fannie Young, 73.

According to the United States Census recorded on April 15, 1940, John Branham (49), was the head of household at a rented farm for $3.00 per month. in Wateree Township, in Kershaw County. Also in the home was his wife, Daisy Branham (43); son, Leonard Branham (19), Son, J W Branham (17); daughter, Leona Branham (14); daughter, Maude Branham (11) and Juanita Branham (9). It was reported the family members were all born in South Carolina. John Branham was an operator of a farm, Daisy Branham kept house, Leonard Branham and J W Branham were helpers on the farm. Leona Branham, Maude Branham, Juanita Branham all went to school.

Mrs. Daisy Sloan Branham, 76, of Elgin, died Tuesday, October 31, 1972 in Kershaw County Memorial Hospital.
She was the widow of John H Branham.
Surviving were two sons, J. W. Branham, Leonard Branham of Elgin; and four daughters, Mrs. Juanita Coker and Mrs. Ruth Morgan of Elgin, Mrs. Maude Cherry of Winnsboro and Mrs. Leona Pia of Long Island, N. Y.

She was buried in the Hillcrest Baptist Church Cemetery in Elgin.
