Also in the home was her son, Fate B Thornton (24), and his wife, Alma Thornton (21) and their son Floyd Thornton (3). It was reported that Fate and Alma were married when he was 21 and she was 18. Also in the home was another son of Elizabeth, Knowlton Thornton (14), and her daughter, Almede Branham (29) and son-in-law, Eugene Branham (30). All family members were reported to have been born in South Carolina. Fate B was a farmer and Eugene was a mechanic at an auto garage.
1940 Census Information:
According to the United States Census recorded on April 15, 1940, Eugene Leon Branham (40) owned a home in Blaney, Kershaw, South Carolina, with his wife, Almeda Thornton Branham (43). All family members were reported to have been born in South Carolina; Eugene was a Truck Driver with the WPA Road Project.

1970
ELGIN – Eugene Branham, 69, died Sunday, August, 9, 1970 in a Camden nursing home.
Mr. Branham was a retired farmer and merchant and was born in Elgin, a son of the late Henry L. Branham and Annie Gladden Branham.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Almeade Thornton Branham; and a sister, Mrs. Edward M. Price of Camden.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, August, 11, 1970 at 5 p.m. in Union Baptist Church.
