Temple Baptist Church was the scene of the 4:30 p.m. Saturday wedding of Miss Amber Kaye Ross and Robert Wyer Simpson III.
The Rev. Glenn Anderson officated.
Given in marriage by her uncle, James Willard Monroe, the bride wore a cage wedding gown of silk organza over crepe finished in daisy motifs of Venise lace and embroidered with a seed pearls. The watteau back fell from the shoulder into a cathedral train outline in daisy motifs, and her illusion veil was attached to a cluster of Venise lace daisies.
Miss Barbara Monroe, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor, and Mrs. Kenneth Shealy served as matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Miss Beverly Simpson of Philadelphia, Pa., sister of the bridegroom; Miss Lelia O’Neal, Miss Caroline Jordan, Miss Emily McCracken, Miss Janet Smith and Miss Judy Moser, all of Columbia.
The attendants wore maize skimmer dresses with cotton lace accenting the dresses.
Walter Douglass of Whitmire, Wayne Catoe, Marion Guilford, Mike Tabor, David Bruns, Rodman Cook of New Jersey and Bill Goodwin of Columbia, cousin of the bride, were usher-groomsmen.
Mr. Simpson was his son’s best man.
After a trip to New Orleans, La., the couple will reside in Augusta, Ga.
