Irmo Seeks 3rd; Cards Open Season

Undefeated Irmo will go after its third straight win and strong Cardinal Newman takes the floor for the first time this year in tonight’s prep basketball action.

Irmo travels to Blythewood, Cardinal Newman is at Lexington and Gilbert entertains Swansea in the only games schedule.

Coach Dan Hallman’s Yellow Jackets have ridden the work of Ray Carr, Wayne Ducote and Gilbert Perry through their first two games, conquest of Mid-Carolina and Saluda.

Blythewood, stunned by an opening loss to Blaney, will try to rebound behind the scoring of Stanley Wilson i the key 4-B clash.

Cardinal Newman, coached by Grady Wallace, has a large number of returning veterans from the club which pulled a number of surprises late in the season a year ago.
