Mr. and Mrs. James Willard Monroe (Lois Ross Monroe) of Columbia announce the engagement of their daughter, Deloria Monroe, to John Thomas Burriss, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Burriss, Sr., of Hopkins.

Miss Monroe is a graduate of Lower Richland High School and Palmer College as executive secretary. She is employed by Redisco, Inc.

Mr. Burriss is a graduate of Lower Richland High School and S. C. Area Trade School as machinist. He is employed by Torrington Bearing Co., of Clinton.

The wedding is planned for June.
