William Joseph Hinson

William Joseph Hinson was born July 13, 1883 in Kershaw County, the son of David Hinson and Elizabeth E. “Eliza” Kelly Hinson.

William J. Hinson, 81, of 1650 Edmund Hwy., West Columbia, died at his home Thursday afternoon, May 21, 1964.

He had lived here for the past 16 years, formerly of Columbia and Blaney. He was a retired farmer.

He was survived by his widow, Mrs. Bessie Golf Hinson of West Columbia; two sons, Luther M. Hinson and Wilbur P. Hinson, both of West Columbia; two daughters, Mrs. Nettie Mae Hoover of West Columbia and Mrs. Nora E. Sherman of Eugene, Ore.; one brother, Dalton M. Hinson of Columbia; also 4 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Friends called at the Thompson Funeral Home or at the residence.

William J. Hinson was buried in Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.
