Sox Enters Blaney Race

Ronnie Sox, winner of the Winternational NHRA drag championship at Pomona, Calif., in February and the “Michigan Madman” will be featured Saturday night at the Blaney Drag Strip.

Sox will enter his 427 Comet against all super stock eliminators and the “madman” – E. J. Potter – will run his Chevrolet-powered motorcycle.

Henry Easterby’s fiberglas Fairlane and Jim Collier, in Burnside’s “Hannah,” lead the local super stock entries. Hubert and Houston Platt of Atlanta are also on the program.

Potter’s unusual cycle features a roller tappet cam, fuel injection and displays 450 horsepower. He completes the quarter-mile run in ten seconds at a speed of 150 mph.
