Avie Ophelia Branham Bowen, 80, of Elgin, died at 7:45 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 1963 at Columbia Hospital after an illness of a year.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 8, 1963 from Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church conducted by the Rev. N. D. Sellers, pastor, the Rev. Wiley Evans, former pastor, and the Rev. Mary Sue Evans. Interment was in the churchyard.

Friends called at Paschal Funeral Home and at the residence. The body was taken to the home at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 1963.

Active pallbearers were six grandsons, W. F. Jeffers, Ronald Bowen, E. L. Bowen, Cecil Bowen, Larry D Branham, and Billy Bowen.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Rev. M. O. Cannon, the Rev. Jervy Jeffcoat, the Rev. M. L. Moore, the Rev. E. E. Evans, the Rev. Bernard Cox, the Rev. Luther Dabbs, the Rev. E. R. Hammons, the Rev. McEntyre, Marshall Jeffers, D. E. Jeffers, Herbert Campbell, G. E. Brown, Gary Goff, Walter Branham, D. M. Brazille, L. R. Smith, David Marsh and the members of the Bible Class of Highway Pentecostal Church.
