Mrs. J. L. Dean’s Rites Saturday

Funeral Services for  Mrs. Alpha Thomas Dean, 38, of 2404 Clark St., who died Thursday at Brynes Clinic, will be held Saturday in the Oaklawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. C. W. Barnes, and the Rev. C. E. McAbee. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The body is at Oaklawn Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Larry Rawl, Bruce Yenny, James Hardee, Ollie Heath, Joe Elledge and Marion Filter.

She was born at Williamson, daughter of Edward E Thomas and Tennie Kirkland Thomas. She was a member of The Church of God.

She was a nurses’ aide at the State Hospital.

Survivors Include her husband, Joseph L Dean; three daughters, Barbara, Rita, and Shirley Dean of Columbia; five sons, Roy Dean, U.S. Army stationed in Germany, and David, Randolph, Joe and James Dean of Columbia, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward E Thomas, Ware Shoals.
