Paschal – Garris Wedding Plans

Barbara Louise Paschal, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Vaughn Paschal Sr. of Columbia, will become the bride of Roy Ellison Garris Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ellison Garris Sr., of Columbia, at 8 p.m. Saturday, August 26, in Dentsville Baptist Church. The Rev. Fred Ayers, pastor of the bride-elect, and the Rev. Horace Chapman, pastor of the bridegroom-elect, will officiate, at the double-ring ceremony. Wedding music is to be presented by Miss Neva Mitchell, organist, and Mr. and Mrs. Ward Gailey Jr., vocalists, of Columbia.

The bride-elect will be given in marriage by her father, Herbert Vaughn Paschal Sr. She will have as her maid of honor, Miss Alice Faye Taylor of Lexington. Mrs. Bobby Goff (Ruth Goff) of Blaney, cousin of the bride-elect, will be matron of honor. The bridesmaid are Mrs. Herbert E. Sharpe (Catherine Paschal) and Patsy Paschal of Columbia, cousin of the bride-elect; Miss Joan Page of Nichols, cousin of the bridegroom-elect; Miss Ann Baring Farmer of State Park; Miss Phyllis Jean Hughes and Miss Judith Ann Wingard of Columbia. Junior bridesmaids are Misses Jonnie Sue Blume and Deborah Diane Blume of Blythewood, cousins of the bride-elect. Pamela Gayle Nelson of Columbia, cousin of the bride-elect, will be flower girl and Stanley Garris of Nichols, cousin of the bridegroom-elect, will be ring bearer.

The bridegroom-elect will have as his best man his father, Roy Ellison Garris, Sr. Usher-groomsmen are William Ralph Garris, Gene Allen Garris and David Caroll Garris, brothers of the bridegroom-elect, of Columbia; James Ernest Paschal of Columbia, cousin of the bride-elect; Louis Munn of Bishopville; Joe E. Robison Jr. and Bobby Munson of Columbia.

Immediately following the ceremony, the bride-elect’s parents will entertain at a reception in the Fellowship Hall of North Trenholm Baptist Church.
