1960

Leo J Rose born and lived in the Blaney section all of his life, a son of the late  John Isaiah Rose and Ada Evans Rose.

Leo J Rose, 45, died of a heart attack while bunting Saturday afternoon, October 8, 1960 near Blaney on his farm. He was a member of Masonic Lodge AFM 29 of Camden. He attended Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Survivors included his widow, Mrs. Ann Atkinson Rose; two step children, Mrs. Walter E Jackson of Blaney and Mrs. George H Rabon of Sumter; two brothers,  C. H. Rose of Glasgow, Va. and Lindsay Rose of Blaney; five sisters Mrs. Pauline Woody,  Mrs. John Davis of West Columbia, Mrs. Stella Brewer and Nina Vaughn Rose Jordan , of Columbia, and Mrs. Finley Branham of Lugoff.

Funeral plans were incomplete.
