Blaney School Will Open August 31

Blaney School will open for the fall term at 9 o’clock Wednesday morning, August 31, with a short exercise in the school gym, according to Superintendent B. E. Livingston.

After assembly, teachers will escort their homeroom groups to their respective classrooms.

On Thursday, September 1, pupils will report to their homerooms for book rentals and announcements. Friday will be devoted to introduction of the various subjects.

Labor Day, September 5, will be the first holiday of the school year. When school resumes at 8:30 Tuesday morning, September 6, the full schedule will be under way.

The grammar faculty consists of Miss Ethel Bruce, Ernest P. Clyburn, Mrs. Jennie D. Hester, Mrs. Sally Y. Koon, Mrs. Sallie McGee, Miss Mae Plumley, J. Paul Ross, Jr.; and Miss Alma VanLandingham.

Other faculty members are: Mrs. Gertrude Chavis, commerce; Mrs. John D. Dellany, piano; Mrs. Margaret E. Hall, home economics and family living; Miss Blondell Jeffers, English; Mrs. Eleanor S. Milling, English and library, Mrs. Mary E. Mullins, social studies; Miss Irene Pellum, math; Jabon Rodgers, science, math; Leslie M. Stover, agriculture; Miss Shelby Jean Stover, science, biology; and William T. Thayer, band; Miss Nettie Moak, secretary.

Bus drivers are James Branham, John Jackson, Wayne Nelson, Harold Patridge, James Peay and Steve Watson.

Lunchroom workers are Mrs. Maude C. Nelson, manager; Mrs. Doris M. Fulmer, Mrs. Eunice Goff, and Mrs. Sally B. Watts.

Custodians are Owen Lloyd Newman, chief and Norris McKenzie and John Wylie Miles, assistants.
