15 Businesses Given Licenses

Fifteen businesses have been granted City of Columbia business and professional licenses for the first time during the last several days.

Receiving licenses were:

Thorne, president and treasurer: Sweets Grill, 2137 Read St., restaurant, Lessie Pough;American Guarantee and Liability Insurance Co., Chicago, Ill.; Palmetto Frosted Foods, 621 Main Street, frozen foods, James W. Hill; F. B. Williams, 1331 Mcduffie Ave., retail grocery; John Shannon, Lugoff, wood dealer; White Martin, Blaney, wood dealer; and Lenze C. John 2001 Two Notch, small repairs contractor.

Also, Johnson and Blizzard, 735 Main St., auto dealer, E. H. Johnson and G. F. Blizzard partners; Miles Jewelers, 1728 Main St., retail jewelry. D. M. Miles, owner; Jorie’s Beauty Salon, 1511 Harden St., Jorie Daniels, owner; LaRebas Beauty Salon, 3015 Colonial Dr., Reba Brown, owner; Albert C. Garlington, Jr., 1497 Caroline Rd., general contractor: Moores Barber Shop, 1921 Hampton St., Wilbur Moore, owner, and Guarantee Trust Life Insurance Co., Chicago, Ill.
