Kershaw Court Begins Term

CAMDEN (Special) – The fall sesion of Kershaw County Criminal Court gets under way here Monday at 10 a.m. with Judge George Gregory of Chester on the bench.

A total of 13 holdover cases including the oft-postponed state’s case against Edward W. Shingler, Former Blaney High School superintendent charged with arson and breach of trust in the $500,000 Balney school fire of 1956, are on the docket for the session.

Also, the Kershaw County Court Grand Jury will act upon some 50 new cases – better than half of them sent up by DeKalb Magistrate Charles B. Blyther.
