Road-Crossing Negro Child Struck By Car

Ethel Mae Gibbs, a nine-year old Negro girl of near Blaney, was hit by an automobile about 7:40 this morning as she crossed Motley Road to get on a school bus.

The car involved was driven by Anie B. Starnes, 3701 Colonial Dr., Columbia, sheriff’s officer said.

An ambulance took the child to Columbia Hospital for Examination.

Deputy C. E. Brooks and Highway Patrolman Dave Hallman investigated.
