KERSHAW, Feb. 10 (Special) – John R. Holley, 78, retired farmer, died early this morning in a Camden hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Holley was born in Kershaw County, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bob Holley.
Survivors were his widow, Mrs. Lizzie B. Holley; five daughters, Mrs. H. F. Catoe, Mrs. Woodrow Lingle and Mrs. Olin Byrd of Columbia, and Mrs. Paul Hinson and Mrs. Everette Clark of Kershaw; three sons, Broadus Holley, Joe Holley and Jack Holley of Jefferson; four brothers, Gilmore Holley and Arthur Holley of Ware Shoals, Wade Holley of Camden and Minor Holley of Jefferson; one sister, Mrs. Maggie Waters of Sumter; 23 grandchildren, and a number of great-grandchildren.
The body will be taken to the home at 10 a.m. Monday, and funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. from Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church by the Rev. Stewart Helper, the Rev. M. B. Gunner and the Rev. J. B. Caston. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
