Hornsby Funeral Set Wednesday

Funeral services for Mike Hornsby will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o’clock in Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church at Blaney. The Rev. Dean Clyde, the Rev. Wylie Evans and the Rev. Mr. Franklin will officiate.

Active pallbearers were six grandsons, Alvin Branham, Russell Branham, Willie Branham, Rodney Hornsby, Gene Rabon and Boykin Hornsby Jr.

Honorary pallbearers were Charlie Wooten, Boykin Rose, Glenn Dowey, Eddie Goff, Joe Wilson, Donnie Watson, Walter Miles, Water Ross, Alton Nelson, Anderson Goff, Ed Campbell and Marshall Jeffords.

The body will be at the residence after six o’clock this evening.

He was a lifelong resident of Blaney and a member of the Blaney Baptist Church.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Dovie Motley Hornsby; four daughters, Mrs. Blake Branham of Blaney, Mrs. Don Androde of San Leandro, Calif., Mrs. W. T. Rabon of Cayce, and Mrs. Edward Johnson of Aiken; four sons, Edmond Hornsby and Otto Hornsby of Blaney, Boykin Hornsby of Sumter, and Ellerbe Hornsby of Lugoff; one brother Turner Hornsby of Blythewood; 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mike Hornsby Of Columbia Dies

Mike Hornsby, 70, farmer of Blaney, died at his residence yesterday afternoon.

Mr. Hornsby was a life-long resident of Blaney and a member of the Blaney Baptist Church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Dovie Motley Hornsby; four daughters, Mrs. Blake Branham of Blaney, Mrs. Don Androde of San Leandro, Calif., Mrs. W. T. Rabon of Cayce, and Mrs. Edward Johnson of Aiken; four sons, Edmond Hornsby and Otto Hornsby of Blaney, Boykin Hornsby of Sumter, and Ellerbe Hornsby of Lugoff; one brother Turner Hornsby of Blythewood; 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body is at the Thompson Funeral Home.
