John Hubert Branham 63, of Elgin, died suddenly of a heart attack at 3:45 p.m., on August 6, 1956, while at work.

Survivors were his wife, Mrs. Daisy Sloan Branham of Blaney; two sons, Leonard H Branham and John W. Branham of Blaney; four daughters; Mrs. Curtis Morgan, and Mrs. Willard Coker of Blaney, Mrs. Jimmie Cherry of Winnsboro, and Mrs. Phillip Pia of Long Island, N. Y.; two brothers, Tom Branham of Charleston and Will Branham of Winnsboro; three sisters, Mrs. Beckie Branham of Blaney, Mrs. Mamie Branham of Lugoff and Mrs. Mac Branham of Lucknow, and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at 5 o’clock, August 8, 1956 from Hillcrest Baptist Church here by the Rev. Richard J. Brookshire and the Rev. Leslie Kirkland. Burial was in the Hillcrest Baptist Church Cemetery.
