Owens – Goff Marriage Vows Are Spoken

Salem Presbyterian Church in Blair was the scene of a lovely wedding at 8 p.m. July 2, when Miss Mary Florence Owens of Blair and Columbia, daughter of Mrs. J. L. Dickey, Jr., of Blair and the late J. N. Owens, became the bride of Harry Olin Goff, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anderson D. Goff of Blaney. The Rev. R. R. Wallace officiated, using the double-ring ceremony.

Greenery, white gladioli and white lighted candles in candelabra decorated the church.

Mrs. Frank Bowman, pianist, presented the wedding music.

Donald Rawls of Pomaria, brother-in-law of the bride, and Bobby Goff, cousin of the bridegroom, served as ushers.

The bride and bridegroom entered the church together. She was lovely in a white moire-taffeta street-length dress with white accessories. She carried a small white Bible topped with a purple-throated orchid.

The bride’s mother wore a rose dress with a corsage of white carnantions.

The bridegroom’s mother wore a navy blue dress with a corsage of white carnations.

After the ceremony the young couple left for their wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., from which they have returned and are now making their home in Blaney. For traveling the bride wore a beige linen suit, brown accessories and the orchid from her Bible.

Mrs. Goff has been employed by the Carolina Life Insurance Company in Columbia since graduation from Monticello High School in 1951.

Mr. Goff finished Blaney High School in 1949 and he is now employed by Jaclyn Hosiery Mill in Camden.
