Junior and Seniors of Blaney High School visited The Columbia Record yesterday wile in Columbia to tour the state capital.
The 26 students watched the presses rolling out yesterday’s paper, linotype machine operators setting stories in type and printers reading the paper for Publication.
Rep. Don Holland of Kershaw introduced the students to the South Carolina House of Representatives at the State House. Their tour also included theĀ Columbia Fire Department and the State Penitentiary.
The Blaney students making the tour with their teacher, Mrs. Anna H. Bozard, were: seniors – Mary Jeffers, Wylean Goff, Ida Mae Jeffers, Patsy Drum, Dorothy Wooten, Ann Zorn, Dorothy Branham, Kenny Rose, Hammy Moak, Tommy Kirkland, Julian Moore, Luther Alrich and Betty Dillard; juniors – Effie Nell Barfield, Shirley Branham, Opal Brown, Mary McPherson, Sylvia Sessions, Ann Miles, Ruth Miles, Lynette Miles, Bobbie E Goff, Leo Ross, Perrie Kirkland, Bobbie Moore, and Charles Campbell.
