Howell-Willis Wedding Plans

Mrs. Mary Lou Howell of Aiken and Theodore Braxton Willis of Chester have completed plans for their wedding . . . The ceremony will take place December 28 at 5:30 in the afternoon in the First Baptist church in Aiken . . . The Rev. A. D. Howard, pastor of the bride-elect, will preform the double-ring ceremony, assisted by Rev. A. L. Willis of Chester, father of the bridegroom-elect . . . William T. Slaughter, organist and Miss Deri Ross of Blaney and Hoyt A. Forrest, vocalists, will present the wedding music. . . . . Miss Howell will be given in marriage by her father, Albert Thomas Howell. . . . She will have as her maid of honor Miss Patricia Maddox of Camden and Columbia, her former roommate at Furman university. . . . Bridesmaid will be Miss Mary Bishop of Travels Rest, Miss Catherine George of Aiken, Mrs. Willlis K. Herndon, Jr., of Aiken and Mrs. T. Connor Guess of Denmark. . . . Junior bridesmaid will be cousins of the bride-elect, Miss Anne Lynne Howell and Miss Julianne McGraw, both of Aiken. . . . Best man will be Truett Willis of Reidville, brother of the bridegroom-elect. . . . Ushers are Robert Duke and Eston Lee of Columbia, Ray F. Bell of Atlanta, Ga., and James K. Howell of Aiken and Furman University, brother of the bride-elect . . . . Junior groomsmen are to be Robert Duke, Jr., of Columbia, nephew of the bridegroom-elect, and Kenneth Gaver of Aiken . . . . A reception for the immediate families and out-of-town guest wil be held at the home of the bride’s parents, 619 Chesterfield street, immediately following the ceremony . . . .
