He died on 13 Dec 1951 in Elgin, Kershaw, South Carolina, USA. He was buried on 16 Dec 1951 in Pontiac, Richland, South Carolina, USA at Spears Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. His cause of death was a lung abscess due to bronchitis.

John P. Sanders, Life Long Blaney Resident, Dies

John F. Sanders, Sr., 64, farmer and life-long resident of Blaney, died at 1:30 yesterday afternoon at his home following several months of illness.

Mr. Sanders was a member of the Union Baptist Church. His survivors include his widow, Mrs. Etta B. Sanders of Blaney; six daughters, Mrs. Ruby Lassiter of Columbia, Mrs. Gaynelle Medlin of Blaney, Mrs. Josephine Beck of Columbia, Mrs. Edith Vezina of Matick, Mass., and Mrs. Evelyn Peak and Miss Nancy Sanders, both of Blaney; three sons, Arthur Sanders of Columbia, John F Sanders, Jr., and Tilton Sanders, both of Blaney. Ten grandchildren also survive. 

Funeral arrangements are incomplete but rites will be conducted sometime Sunday from the Highway Pentecostal Holiness church near Blaney with the Rev. Leo Edwards, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. William Goff.

Interment will be in Spars Creek Baptist churchyard.

Funeral services for John F. Sanders, Sr. 63, of Blaney, will be be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Highway Pentecostal Holiness church of Blaney and burial will be in the Spears Creek Baptist Church Yard.

Mr. Sanders, a lifelong resident of Blaney, was a member of the Union Baptist church. His survivors included his widow, Mrs. Etta B. Sanders of Blaney; six daughters, Mrs. Ruby Lassiter of Columbia, Mrs. Ganell Medlin of Blaney, Mrs. Josephine Beck of Columbia, Mrs. Edith Vezina of Matick, Mass., and Mrs. Evelyn Peak and Miss Nancy Sanders, both of Blaney; three sons, Arthur Sanders of Columbia, John F. Sanders, Jr., and  Tilton Sanders, both of Blaney. Ten grandchildren also survive.

Leo Edwards officiating, assisted by the Rev. William Goff. Interment will be in the Spears Creek Baptist church.
