Lugoff – (Special) – The marriage of Miss Martha C. Boykin of Lugoff and Columbia and Lenare P. Rose of Blaney was solemnized at 5 p.m., October 10 in the Salem Methodist Church of Blaney. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Herbert Spell, pastor of the Salem Methodist church in the presence of the two immediate families.
The bride wore a suit of plum with dusty rose accessories. Her corsage was of pink orchids.
Mrs. Rose is the only daughter of Mrs. Boykins and the late Henry F. Boykin of Lugoff. Her mother was the former Margaret Almead Bailey of Blaney. She is now employed with the production and marketing administration of the United States department of agriculture in Columbia.
Mr. Rose is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence P. Rose of Blaney. He served with the United States army overseas during World War II and is now employed with the Kershaw County Law Enforcement bureau in Camden.
After a short wedding trip the couple will make their home in Blaney.
