John M Grigsby was born on May 26, 1876, a son of James Abney Grigsby and Charlotte A Reeds Grigsby.

Blaney – Sept. 26 – Funeral Services will held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Union Baptist church, near here, for Union Baptist church, near here, for John M. Grigsby, 75, who died at his home here last night following three years of illness.

Mr. Grigsby, a farmer, was a native of Kershaw county, a son of the late James Abney Grigsby and Mrs. Charlotte Reeds Grigsby. He was a member of the Union Church, he attended the Kershaw county schools.

He is survived by four sons, Owens Grigsby of Blaney, Glenn Grigsby and Bryant Grigsby of Cayce and James Grigsby of Gaffney; three daughters, Mrs. Lewis Dinkins of Lugoff, Mrs. Ralph McCarley of Columbia and Mrs. Lottie McKay of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, J. T. Grigsby of Columbia; three sisters, Mrs. Lillie Amos of Jacksonville, Mrs. M. W. Lowe of Welborn, Fla. and Mrs. Paul Hemming of Birmingham, Ala; 24 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

His wife was the late Mrs. Rebecca Branham Grigsby.

On September 26, 1951, John M Grigsby was listed in the newspaper article “Deaths.”
